The Center for Mind and Culture (CMAC) is the research engine of Just Horizons Alliance. We explore how people think, change, and act within complex systems—from belief formation and public health to conflict dynamics and societal transformation. Our interdisciplinary methods blend behavior modeling, AI-driven analysis, and systems thinking to help decision-makers anticipate consequences and test interventions before they're deployed in the real world.
Our work has leveraged data modeling to support policy professionals in curbing extremist violence; used big data and network analysis to help law enforcement prevent child trafficking; and combined data collection, systemic analysis, and computational policy simulation to help public health organizations address Black maternal mortality rates in the United States. CMAC supports institutions seeking not just data, but deep understanding: offering insights that center human behavior and ethical complexity to shape long-term societal outcomes.
The team's ability to combine computational modeling with deep human factors research creates a level of insight that's rare in both academia and policy. They don't just generate data... they generate understanding."
