Our Story
This quote by the intrepid aviator Amelia Earhart speaks to the idea that has driven Just Horizons Alliance since its founding: that human potential, rooted in curiosity, imagination, and a strong ethical foundation, can rise to meet even the most complex challenges.
Our roots trace back to the Center for Mind and Culture (CMAC), founded in 2007 by Dr. Wesley Wildman, a philosopher, psychologist, and computational social scientist whose work bridges human behavior and data science. CMAC pioneered a new model for research: interdisciplinary teams using simulation modeling, data science, and behavioral analysis to tackle deeply entrenched social issues ranging from extremist violence to public health disparities.
“No Borders, Just Horizons.”

Over time, CMAC’s collaborations expanded into new domains: AI ethics, values-based technology design, and independent publishing—each sharing a commitment to aligning progress with human dignity. Recognizing the need to integrate these efforts, several initiatives came together under one banner: Just Horizons Alliance.
Today, our programs—DigEthix, the Center for Mind and Culture, NexusSIM, and Wildhouse Publishing—form a platform where research and reflection meet practical tools and public dialogue. From equipping technologists with ethical foresight, to amplifying ideas that challenge and inspire, to modeling systemic risks that can be seen before they spread, we help people and institutions lead with clarity and courage.
In a world of accelerating change, we hold that knowledge alone is not enough. Lasting solutions require wisdom: an ability to connect evidence with purpose, and action with care. This is our work: to help humanity shape the systems that shape us.
